Privacy Policy
1. Overview
CosmosVault is a personal memory vault for iPhone published by Kin Long Lee (“we”, “us”). This policy describes what information is processed when you use the app and your choices. We do not operate a separate CosmosVault login; your vault and usage limits stay on your device unless you export data yourself.
2. Summary
- Memories — Stored on your iPhone with SwiftData (device-local).
- Iris assistant — Sends prompts and relevant vault excerpts to Google Gemini via the app’s Firebase project.
- Web search (optional) — When enabled in Settings, Iris may use Google Search grounding.
- Ads (free tier) — Google AdMob: bottom banner, sponsored rows in All memories (~1 per 10 memories), rewarded videos for AI quota.
- Pro — No display ads; daily AI allowance; rewarded video may still appear when quota is empty.
- Iris chat history — On device only.
3. What you provide
Photos, notes, voice transcripts, and place names you choose to save. Do not import content you lack rights to use.
4. On-device processing
OCR, speech transcription, MapKit geocoding, and related features may run on your device using Apple frameworks without our servers.
5. Firebase & Gemini
When you use Generate with AI or Iris, text and relevant memory excerpts may be sent to Google services configured for the app. AI output may be inaccurate — verify important information yourself.
6. Advertising
Non-subscribers may see AdMob ads as described above. AdMob may collect device identifiers per Google’s policies. Pro subscribers do not see banner or in-feed display ads.
7. Subscriptions
Payments are processed by Apple (StoreKit). Product ID: com.cosmosvault.app.pro.monthly.
8. AI quotas
Usage limits are stored on your device only. Deleting the app clears quota counters. Pro daily allowance resets at local midnight. Basic users refill museum and Iris pools via rewarded video when depleted.
9. Permissions
The app may request Photo Library, Microphone, Speech Recognition, and Location when you use related features. You can deny permissions in iOS Settings.
10. Retention & deletion
Delete memories in the app or remove the app to delete local data on this device.
11. Children
Not directed at children under 13.
12. Changes & contact
